Hyskore Foam Pistol Racks Review and Customization
Hyskore Foam Pistol Racks Review and Customization
All right guys I wanted to chat a little bit about Hyskore pistol racks that I recently got. It is a great safe organization tool. I watched a review from the Yankee martial on YouTube. Don’t know if you guys are subscribed to him or not, but he puts a lot of cool stuff. Good guy. Pretty funny. Good channel. Check that out.
But I saw his review on these and I really needed a system to keep my pistols in order in the new safe I got. So I watch his video and bought these pistol racks from Midway USA. They were on sale for $10.99 apiece, so I bought a couple of these for use for my new safe. They are the Hyskore 3 Gun Pistol Racks https://hyskore.com/products/30002-modular-pistol-rack/ . On Hyskore’s website www.hyskore.com they introduced them as an innovative pistol racking system with high density closed cell non-reactive foam that won’t absorb moisture and does not react solvents lubricants things of that nature.
I want to show you what I did with them to see how they’re working for me. So here you’ll see it set up right now. A two gun rack. No I did not get a defective product. We’ll get into that. But here they are with a sig and 1911. I wanted to show two different types of handguns so you can see how they fit. Let’s take these out. Now I did not get a two gun rack in a three gun box. So they’ve sold as three gun systems, three gun units. These were too wide for my safe. So before you guys purchase these, measure you’re safe, and look at the dimensions on the Hyskore website, to make sure these are going to fit in your safe for where you plan to store them. If not, they are only $10.00 apiece, so I converted these to two rack systems. The EVA foam is great. These things are durable and very well constructed. It’s not perfectly polished, but I mean hey you’re storing them in a gun safe you’re only storing your guns in it.
So anyways it was a three rack system, so there was another bay right here for another firearm, but it was too wide for my safe for the shelf I was trying to put it in. So it was pretty frustrating in the beginning but then I start playing with it and figuring out the design and how it was engineered. These were just polymer, today’s term for plastic. So it has white plastic rods shooting through here going on to these metal receiving caps that are holding all of the different foam pieces. So, I just took snips, took these off, went right in here at the third bay, snipped off the plastic rod, and pulled this end cap straight off. I was able to take off the three corresponding foam pieces for the third bay on the rack off. Snipped down the rod all the way to just a two rack system, and then slide on the parts I wanted, and then slid on this receiving end cap. It was as easy as that. It took five minutes I modified it to a two rack system and put the foam on.
They work great! Before I would have one gun laying sideways on each shelf in my safe. Now I doubled my storage. If you have a bigger safe, you can use the Three Gun Rack as is. This works perfect they’re not banging around it’s sturdy, it’s inexpensive. I got them on sale for $10.99 at Midway. I don’t know how much there are regularly. I think they’re maybe $13.99 regularly. So it’s a great price and very good for your safe organization.
