The Hyskore Dual Damper Machine Shooting Rest

The Hyskore Dual Damper Machine Shooting Rest

This is the Hyskore www.hyskore.com  Dual Damper Rifle Rest https://hyskore.com/products/30275-dual-damper-shooting-and-sighting-rest/ . One cool thing about is it was ordered from Amazon, it appears to be well protected. It’s in a separate box with a little bit of protective paper. There is a little damage, but in all reality it’s ok. So the Hyskore Dual Damper Precision Machine Rest is the newer upgraded version. I had some issues with my last one not having enough room for even a 20 round magazine. This one fits both 20 and 30 round magazines. You’ve got your windage; you’ve got your elevation. My big thing here is I am just hoping that this is repeatable, and it’ll hold my rifle down. I don’t need it to be perfect. I know this isn’t a high end machine rest for bench rest shooting, but I would like it to at least be close. If I have to touch the gun I don’t want to have to relook through this scope to make sure I’m on target, and with the other one you did. Sometimes when you’re using the trigger release, you have to push the trigger a little bit forward to get it to completely reset, because there’s not a whole lot of extra space there. So yeah, it’s just kind of an annoying thing whenever you have to completely readjust your aim every single time you fire. So that’s the idea here. That’s what I’m going for. Even though I know that my expectations are unreasonable.

The trigger release was not on the list of things that come with it and I was hoping that this one also came with the trigger release, so I’m happy that it has this. It’s hard to get set up but it works really well once you do get it set up, so I’m glad they include this in this Rifle rest as well.

It already feels like there’s very close tolerances. They did a much better job of protecting this one.  All right so on the last one the windage adjustments, you could grab this and move it about ¼” to ½” just by applying pressure. This is solid. Everything on this is solid. I’m really hopeful about this. I almost went with the Caldwell led sled and just gave up on Hyskore, but I like the idea of not having to carry around weights. So that is a big thing for me right now trying to decide between these. OK So it looks like my elevation might be adjusted here. I might have to play around with the directions, see how this works but here’s our main piece.

So far I’m impressed. The other one, I was impressed as well, but I was nervous about the windage screws, and they actually wound up not being an issue. And not just the windage screws, there was a piece on the Caldwell that was you could grab it and move it a lot. If you watch my video you’ll see what I was talking about. So in this box you’ve got another C.D. that has directions on it. I checked out the other one I’m sure it’s the same one. There are just not a lot of directions with that. And I don’t really think that I expected much more than what they gave, but there wasn’t really installation directions. It was just more of, hey here’s the basics of how this works. Here are our straps and a bubble level, lots of extra parts, T bolt for some purpose, more straps. It appears that there are three straps for this one. The other one only had two. Our instruction manual only show two straps. There must be a third strap that goes in this around the back side of the rifle rest right there. So yeah three straps. This is really a great tool, far superior to the Caldwell Lead Sled. With the Lead Sled one of the problems with it is it absorbs the recoil but if you’re not actually touching it when it fires, it’s going to move. It’s not mounted to anything whereas these are. And that’s kind of the draw to them.
