The Spectacular Hyskore Hand Gun Assistant

The Spectacular Hyskore Hand Gun Assistant

We’re going to do a review on this pistol stand. This is something a friend of mine bought a while back and all he ever did was open it and looked at it. But he got sick and he hasn’t used it. So he was lent it to me to use. So I thought I’d do a review on it while I set it up. This is a Hyskore www.hyskore.com Hand Gun Assistant https://hyskore.com/products/30101-hand-gun-assistant/  purpose built pistol and revolver servicing fixture. I’m just going to read through it. I looked a little bit of it up online, but the box has got the best information I’ve seen so I’m just gonna go by the box. It supports all modern pistols and revolvers, traverse 360, so it will spin 360°, and pivots over 200 degrees, has 4 magazine mandrel inserts, has a vice, 4 point leveling, steel construction, supports 1911, 9 millimeter double stack, 40 double stack, 45 double tack and all 22 long rifle magazines. That’s pretty cool. It even has got a small parts tray.

Only one thing though, when you do the vice you’ve got to take the grips off of the pistol. So it clamps on the frame but that tells me it’s pretty strong so that’s pretty cool. All right. Let’s see if this works. That’s pretty cool. That’s going to be nice. I can build an AR lower right on that.  Oh that’s cool. Wow. Very cool. All right look we’ll get it out of the box and set it up.

We’ll just got it all put together. Basically you put the sleeve on and you put on the other bearing set, and you just use the two and lock it down. This is your bracket swivel bracket I guess for lack of a better term. You can tighten these too here to stop the 360 degree rotation, and then there are two here to control this direction. Then depending on how you mount the mandrel or the vice, you’ve got another 360 degrees in reference to this plane. I like the way they thought it out.

You know it’s neat but I’m not sold on the mandrels yet. And here’s the reason, I got to thinking about it, see it has movement. Convenience for holding it there, it’s going to be great for photography. So I’m really excited about that. We’ll be able to film really good shots of the guns. But as far as actually working on it, I don’t I don’t like movement. I don’t like movement in my presses. I want everything to be just solid so there’s no room for error. But you know, if you think about it, you lock onto something that holds a magazine, the magazine fits in there loosely, so to speak. It’s held firm into place, but it is not designed to hold the gun from that position. So let’s that’s kind of a limiting issue, just depending on what you need to do. But the vice is the thing that I’ve always been real interested in. So we’re gonna check that out next.

I’ve got the vice mounted up. I’ve taken the grips off, real simple, both sides. Just remember be really careful with screw heads. Get your gunsmith screwdrivers set it’ll really help. But you can see I put it in the vice. I like it a lot better this way it’s just much, much more solid. If you’re gonna do a quick clean it’s fine, but I think if I was gonna work on it to pull or tap or anything like that, we definitely want it in the vice. Now depending on how you position it, you can lay it down any which way that you want, you can mount it. It comes with two barrel grips, so you can grab it around mount it any way, so It’s very cool. Really like it. I think it’s gonna help out on some of the videos big time. The Hyskore Handgun Assistance, pretty cool. I like it a lot.
